A Favorite Event Production Vendor: KVL Audio Visual Services

Events with Ginger & Co. works on 12 to 20 events every year. Each event can include anywhere from six to 60 service providers. Over the years, we’ve developed quite a contact list of event vendors but we do have our preferences! A favorite* event production vendor of ours is KVL Audio Visual Services.

Last month, we worked with KVL for both the Manhattan Childrens Center gala and the Autism Science Foundation Day of Learning.

KVL is a preferred event production vendor at Chelsea Piers where the Manhattan Childrens Center event takes place. This means they know the policies and procedures of the event venues there, limiting the number of surprises that can occur during the planning period. They also keep some of their equipment on-site, so if a last-minute need occurs we can easily procure an additional microphone or extension cord.

Much of the pre-planning occurs with the vendor’s office staff, but for this event we reviewed the run-of-show a few days prior with the lead on-site technician Chris. Kathleen, our lead for event production, met the rest of the KVL team on-site, reviewed their roles and responsibilities, tested the event media, and led them through the production schedule throughout the evening.

For the first Autism Science Foundation (ASF) Day of Learning three years ago,  we reached out to KVL, among other AV vendors, for a quote for the event’s production needs. Although their off-site team is led by a different individual, we knew we would get the same value and service from the company as working with them at their in-house venues.

They have been our preferred event production vendor for ASF for three years now and each year, the audio-visual set-up gets better and better. We were especially pleased this year when we walked in for set-up at 6:30 a.m. that morning and there was our new friend Chris, ready to work with Kathleen once again.
